On the other hand, the police raided the Nara Lokesh ‘Yuvagalam’ padayatra camp site at Bethapudi in Bhimavaram constituency of West Godavari district at midnight. The police arrived in 3 vehicles and detained around 50 people including Yuvagalam volunteers and cooking staff. The volunteers alleged that the police attacked them indiscriminately.

The TDP is alleging that the YCP workers pelted stones on Kapukachi Lokesh Padayatra on Tuesday night. Many TDP leaders and workers as well as policemen were injured in this incident. Volunteers marching along the yatra were arrested on charges that Lokesh had provoked the TDP workers. The police are taking the arrested people to different places. They were shifted to Bhimavaram, Narsapuram, Veeravasaram and Kalla police stations on Tuesday night. Presently TDP activists are kept in Rajyalakshmi Marine Exports Factory in Sicily.

The TDP leaders are alleging that the police are trying to register a case of attempted murder under Section 307 against the detained volunteers. They are indignant that the YCP allowed them on the same route after giving permission for the Yuvagalam padayatra.
