Mani Ratnam’s visual wonder Ponniyan Selvan 2 is going to release in OTT. Ponniyan Selvan2 will be streaming on Amazon Prime from May 26. It is said that there is a possibility that Ponniyan Selvan-2 will be available for free to Amazon subscribers from the second week of June. It is learned that Amazon Prime has acquired the OTT rights of Ponnion Selvan 2 for around 120 crores. It is said that this movie will be released in Tamil, Telugu and other languages through Amazon Prime.
Released in theaters on April 28, the movie grossed more than Rs 300 Cr worldwide. However, this sequel could not bring profit to the producers. Released with a break-even target of 335 crores, the movie failed to meet expectations.
This film Ponnion Selvan 2 starring Vikram, Jayamravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai and Trisha in lead roles was produced by Lyca Productions.
Mani Ratnam’s direction in this sequel impressed the audience but due to the number of characters and giving more importance to the Tamil Nativity, this movie could not fetch big collections in other languages.
Ponniyin Selvan 2 is jointly bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, and it has the music composed by the Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman.
