Ponniyin Selvan Vs Vikram Vedha box office collections: Mani Ratnam’ much hyped magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan and Vikram Vedha have finally arrived at the theaters today. Both the movies are locking horns at the box office Ponniyin Selvan had already collected Rs 10 crore gross from Tamil Nadu alone through advance booking for release day, with both the distribution and exhibition sector of the opinion that the number could have surpassed Rs 15 crore gross by the time the advance booking closed.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, Vikram and Karthi starrer Ponniyin Selvan 1 looks set to fill its coffers, with Rs 6.8 cr gross already coming in for day 1 from t US and Canada alone while the overall overseas advance booking is Rs 20 crore gross. On the other side, Saif Ali Khan and hrithik Roshan starrer action drama Vikram Vedha 1 took a solid start of Rs 15-16 crore nett. That means, the real test for both films will be started from day 2.
As per some data analysis source tracking online bookings across India, Vikram Vedha has booked 56529 tickets in advance across 3344 screens till 7:55pm. Total collection is around Rs 2 cr. It means the producers earn around Rs 60 L.
