President Droupadi Murmu flies in Sukhoi 30 fighter jet

Indian President Droupadi Murmu flew in Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter jet. She was on a tour of Assam and took a tour of a fighter jet at the Tezpur Air Force Station on Saturday morning. Murmu became the second woman president to travel in Sukhoi. In 2009, the then President Pratibha Patil flew in this plane for the first time. Meanwhile, Tezpur airport is near to Tawang sector.  The Sukhoi 30 MKI is a two-seat fighter jet. It was developed by Russia’s Sukhoi company, while Hindustan Aeronautics Limited company built the jet.

Droupadi Murmu flew for approximately 30 minutes covering Brahmaputra and Tezpur valley with a view of Himalayas before returning to the Air Force Station.

President Droupadi Murmu undertook a sortie during her 3 days visit to the state as Supreme Commander of the defence forces.

Sukhoi-30 MKI is a 2 seater multirole fighter jet developed by Russia’s Sukhoi and built under licence by India’s aerospace giant Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

 She  arrived in Assam on 6th April and headed to Kaziranga National Park and inaugurated the Kaziranga National Park on 7th April and flagged off the Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition 2023. Indian President Droupadi Murmu also attended the function to mark the completion of 75 years of the Gauhati High Court at Guwahati after inaugurating the two-day ‘Gaj Festival’ at park.
