Rahul Gandhi gets bail from Sultanpur court in 2018 defamation case

Today, a special court in Sultanpur has issued bail to the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a 2018 defamation case. During the elections in Karnataka, Vijay Mishra started inspecting the case on August 4, 2018. The case has its roots from the remarks on Gandhi made against the Home minister Amit Shah during a press conference in Bengaluru on 8th May, 2018.

Amit Shah was the president of BJP at the time of Rahul Gandhi’s comment. The complaint represents Rahul Gandhi’s statement during which he said that while the BJP professes a decision to honest and clean politics, it is led by a party president who is an “accused” in a murder case.
