Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar died in Mumbai  yesterday on 6th February at the age of 92. Called Swar Kokila by her legion of fans, Mangeshkar’s death brought down the curtain on an era in the Indian film industry.  She was christened the Nightingale of India, had lent her voice to thousands of songs in 36 languages in a career spanning almost eight decades.  The veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar was offered a song Kanha Soja Zara  for Anushka Shetty and Prabhas starred in Baahubali, which was helmed by SS Rajamouli.

Lata Mangeshkar was the  first choice for many music directors, composers and filmmakers. And the same was the case for SS Rajamouli director Baahubali.  When the film was being dubbed in Hindi,  Rajamouli and the music director of Baahubali M M Keeravani wanted Lata Mangeshkar to croon the song Kanha Soja Zara which was shot  on Anushka Shetty.  But due to her old age, Lata Mangeshkar had to refuse the offer.
