TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy has given clarity on his comments on electricity issue in America. Speaking to the media on Thursday, he said that the BRS party had cut the videos in his favor and were spreading bad propaganda. He reminded that KCR was a key player in the Telugu Desam party during the Bashir Bagh shootings.
Revanth Reddy said that the leadership of the Congress party observed the conditions of the farmers and promised free electricity as well as all the cases registered against the farmers. He said that YS Rajasekhar Reddy was elected as the CM in the subsequent elections. He said that he signed the free electricity file during the swearing in ceremony. He clarified that the history of providing quality electricity along with free electricity belongs to the Congress party.
Revanth Reddy added, “I am a farmer myself. I know everything about agriculture. I am not the son of brokers. KCR has brought down the electricity discoms. They are stealing electricity for their own benefit. The government says that they are giving free electricity to the farmers. The Telangana government is not giving 24 hours electricity to the farmers. They are not getting free electricity even for 12 hours. Congress has no problem in the matter of free electricity. The policy of the Congress is to give free electricity to the farmers. I myself participated in the dharna in Khammam. We will not do anything that will harm the people. KCR is committing corruption of 8000 crores per year under the guise of free electricity.”
