Revanth Reddy requests Sonia Gandhi to contest from Telangana in LS polls

On Monday Telangana Chief Minister and state Congress president Revanth Reddy met Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi. Revanth Reddy urged Sonia Gandhi to contest ensuing Lok Sabha elections from his state Telangana.

Revanth Reddy conveyed to Gandhi that the state unit has already unanimously passed a resolution, urging her to contest from the state. Sonia Gandhi said to him that she would take a decision at an appropriate time.

CM told her that people of Telangana respect her as a mother for carving out Telangana and requested her to contest from state.

Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, met Ms Gandhi at her residence. In the discussions that followed CM explained how Telangana wanted to express their gratitude sending her to Parliament from the State.

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said to MS Gandhi: Out of 6 poll ‘guarantees’ of Congress, free travel for women in state run RTC buses and the health scheme of Rs 10 lakh for poor are already being implemented.
