Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy took oath as the next chief minister of the southern state, on Thursday, 3 days after the Congress won a huge mandate to form the government in the newest state of the country. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad. Revanth Reddy’ wife, daughter and son-in-law graced the main stage where he took oath.
Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy will be in Revath Reddy’s cabinet.
Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu was sworn in as the Deputy CM of the Telangana state.
A day following his selection by the party high command for the top position, resolving the leadership question, Revanth Reddy met with central leaders in capital Delhi. This included Sonia Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Rahul Gandhi, Manikrao Thakre, and Mallikarjun Kharge.
Revanth Reddy becomes the 1st Congress chief minister of Telangana and the 2nd chief minister of the state created in 2014 following the bifurcation of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
Congress snatched power from KCR lead BRS in Telangana, where the BJP’s vote share and tally rose.
