The Supreme Court on Friday stayed Telangana High Court’s order on the bail of A1 accused Erra Gangireddy in the murder case of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy. Erra Gangireddy’s bail was canceled by the Telangana High Court on April 27 this year. The court ordered the CBI to surrender before May 5 this year. However, the Telangana High Court has ordered Erra Gangireddy to be granted bail on July 1 as the trial of the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case will not be completed by June 30 this year. 

On the 16th of this month, YS Sunatha Reddy filed a petition in the Supreme Court against Erra Gangireddy’s bail order. Sunitha Reddy challenged the bail order given by the Telangana High Court.

Former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy was murdered at his residence on March 14, 2019. Erra Gangireddy is the 1st accused in this murder case.   

At that time the SIT investigated the murder case of YS Vivekananda Reddy. But the charge sheet was not filed on time. With this, Erra Gangireddy was granted default bail. 

The CBI will investigate the murder case of Vivekananda Reddy with the subsequent developments. The case will be investigated by the CBI on the orders of the AP High Court.  The  accused Erra Gangireddy filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of bail in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
