Telangana politics heated up during assembly elections. Not only the opposition BJP and Congress parties but also the ruling BRS are facing the leaders’ jumping. As sitting MLAs and MLCs are also changing parties, second cadre leaders are also following them. Assembly elections are the right time for the leaders who want to change the party for whatever reason. They are joining other parties, shocking the party that has been going on for a long time. Like Vikarabad municipal chairperson Manjula and her husband Ramesh Kumar have resigned from BRS.
BRS leader Manjula was unanimously elected as 24 ward councilor in Vikarabad municipal elections. BRS leader Ramesh Kumar played a key role in winning his wife. Ramesh, who has political influence, got the post of municipal chairman reserved for women, so he got it for his wife. Manjula has been appointed as Vikarabad Municipal Chairperson.
But with the political developments in Vikarabad, the political feud between Manjula, Ramesh couple and local MLA Metuku Anand increased. The MLA’s agitation against the municipal chairperson of his own party with the councilors of his faction, this has reached the level of distrust. Moreover, Manjula and Ramesh are fed up with MLA filing cases against them, not giving approval for development works, allocating funds.
The municipal chairman couple alleged that no matter how many times they told party leaders about MLA Anand’s behaviour, there was no result. He said that he is resigning because he does not want to continue in the party while enduring insults.
