Tamil film industry executive charge-sheeted in LTTE revival case

National Investigation Agency (NIA) is becoming strict in the case of alleged conspiracy to revive the terrorist organization Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in Sri Lanka and India. He has filed a charge sheet against another accused in a special court in Tamil Nadu.

An NIA spokesperson said that the main conspirator Lingam A. So far, 14 people have been arrested in this case, including alias ‘AadiLingam’. The agency had registered a case of illegal trade of drugs and weapons in July 2022. So far 16 people have been presented as accused in this case.

According to the NIA, Lingam alias Aadilingam, a resident of Chennai, is a close associate of the second accused Gunasekharan. He worked as a benami in Gunasekharan’s illegal transactions to launder the money earned from drug and arms trade in India and Sri Lanka. Lingam had also forged identity documents for the members of the racket in an attempt to legalize their illegal stay in India. 

Lingam is the 14th accused to be charge sheeted in the case registered in 2022.

The National Investigation Agency said Lingam is accused of conspiring and working to revive the banned terrorist organization through illegal trade in drugs and arms.
