It is known that the first assembly meetings held after the formation of the Congress government in Telangana were heated. The Revanth government, which released white papers on many sectors during the meetings, tried to make the previous KCR government guilty in front of the people.
The govt is alleging that large scale corruption has taken place in the irrigation projects. Collapsing of the pillars of Medigadda project, which is a part of the Kaleshwaram project, has created an uproar across the state. Recently, CPM state committee member Tammineni Veerabhadram said that the Congress government should not hand over the probe into KLIS- Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme irregularities to CBI, as is being demanded by the BJP, and should go ahead with its plan to seek a judicial probe.. To this extent Tammineni Veerabhadram wrote a letter to Revanth Reddy.
Tammineni stated in the letter that central agencies like CBI, ED and IT have become pawns in the hands of Centre. He asked, instead of handing over the investigation to the CBI, it is suggested that a comprehensive judicial inquiry should be conducted with the sitting judge. He said that 93 thousand crores had been spent so far on the KLIS, which was estimated to cost Rs 1.27 lakh crore. The probe should check the cost, quality and wastage of resources, Tammineni Veerabhadram demanded.
