Tension erupted in Palasa town on Saturday midnight. MP Rammohan Naidu and MLA Ashok have been arrested by the police for harassing TDP leaders in the name of demolition of illegal structures.
Telugu Desam Party President Nagaraju constructed a culvert on the irrigation canal on the way to his house fifteen years ago. However, the authorities have recently objected that the construction of this culvert is illegal. They are ready to remove the culvert as it has become an obstacle to the flow of water. They reached the culvert with demolition materials on Saturday midnight. Due to this, there was suddenly a tense atmosphere. The TDP leaders alleged that they were ready to demolish the culvert to trouble the TDP leader Nagaraju.
In support of Nagaraju, TDP MP Rammohan Naidu, MLA Ashok, former MLA Gauthu Sirisha along with many TDP leaders protested. With this, the police force entered the field. There was a heated argument between the officers and the TDP leaders. In this order, the police arrested the TDP leaders and took them to the police station.
On the other side, TDP leader Nagaraju alleged that the authorities are blocking the way to his house only on the orders of Minister Sidiri Appalaraju. Nagaraju alleged that he was working for TDP.
