Balapur Laddu Auction Process Completed. A total of 36 people participated in the auction this time. In addition to last year’s 29 people, seven new people participated in the auction. The bidding process was competitive from the beginning. Finally Dasari Dayananda Reddy got the laddoos for Rs 27 Lakhs. This is the highest price in the history of Balapur Laddu. Last year the laddu was auctioned for Rs 24.60 lakhs. A new record was registered with the latest price. A huge number of devotees flocked to Balapur Ganesh during the auction song. Organizers of Balapur Ganapati Utsav presented Ganesh Laddu to Dasari Dayananda Reddy.
The money collected through this auction is used for various development activities in the villages. Even Muslims have participated in bidding on more than 3 occasions.
Balapur Ganapati Utsava Samiti has been conducting Laddu Auction since 1994. However, in 2020, the Laddu auction was not held due to Corona. Laddu Auction was first started in 1994 with Rs.450. The auction price has been increasing every year. By 2010, Laddu fetched Rs 10.32 lakhs in the auction. Last year (2022), Vangeti Lakshmareddy, a member of the Ganesh festival committee, got the Balapur Laddu at an auction for Rs 24.60 lakhs.
