Telangana government is set to felicitate recipients of Padma awards at an event tomorrow. The special event is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Shilpakala Vedika. Megastar Chiranjeevi and former vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu, who were conferred the second highest civilian honour Padma Vibhushan will be honoured during the event in Shilpa Kala Vedika.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy extended the invitation to Chiranjeevi and former vice-president Venkaiah Naidu through tourism and culture minister Jupally Krishna Rao, who personally met and honoured Chiranjeevi and Venkaiah Naidu on Friday.
Venkaiah Naidu was visited at his residence in Jubilee Hills, and Megastar Chiranjeevi at Annapurna Studios, where both were formally greeted and congratulated by the minister, who presented them with bouquets and shawls.
The state government will also felicitate Padma Shri awardees including Yakshagana artist Gaddam Sammaiah, veena musician Dasari Kondappa, literary figures Kurella Vithalacharya and Kethavath Somlal, and sculptor Satti Ananda Chary tomorrow.
