The State government of Telangana has declared 13 new mandals in nine districts in tune with the aspirations of people of the areas, local needs and assurance given to local leaders by Chief Minister KCR. With the latest addition, the Telangana state now has 607 mandals.
The new created mandals are
· Gundumal and Kothapalle mandals in Narayanapet district
· Serol mandal in Mahabubad district
· Gattuppal mandal in Nalgonda district
· Nizampet mandal in Sangareddy district
· Dudyal mandal in Vikarabad district
· Kaukuntla mandal in Mahabubnagar district
· Alur, Donkeshwar and Salura mandals in Nizamabad district
· Dongli mandal in Kamreddy district
· Endapalli and Bheemaram mandals in Jagtial district
Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary asked district Collectors concerned to publish a preliminary notification in the district gazette for information to the public.
After bifurcation of the state, the government had created 125 mandals in the past 8 years as part of administrative reforms.
Telangana state, which was originally divided into ten districts, eventually expanded to 33 districts as a result of the state’s bifurcation.
Sources said there was from ruling party MLAs to form new mandals in their respective constituencies. The MLAs and local leaders have urged Chief Minister KCR to concede to their demands on new mandals. There were 25 demands but the government has accepted 13 requests.
