Chief Electoral Officer Rajiv Kumar revealed that he visited Telangana for the last three days. He spoke to the media in Hyderabad on Thursday. In Telangana, 22 lakh votes were deleted in 2022-23. He said that these votes were deleted only after examining everything. It is stated that there are 7,600 voters in the state who are over 100 years old.
It was clarified that the number of voters in Telangana is 3.17 crores, votes were not deleted arbitrarily. A total of 8.11 lakh new voters have been registered. He said that he met with political parties on the first day of his visit. He said that the respective parties have brought many issues to their attention regarding the elections. Mainly in the elections, some parties wanted to increase the campaign expenses of the candidates. It was revealed that strict measures should be taken to prevent the distribution of alcohol and money in elections. It has been announced that women and men voters are equal in Telangana, even those over 80 years of age are given the opportunity to vote from home. He said that a total of 35,356 polling stations are being set up.
He added: The Election Commission will work transparently in the conduct of elections. There is no need for any doubt. As part of the three-day tour, we met with political parties, central and state vigilance teams, district SPs, CS and DGP. We discussed the conduct of Telangana assembly elections. Political parties have demanded that the process of linking Aadhaar to the voter card should be completed quickly and that the list of voters should be given in advance.
