Telangana elections: The police seized Rs 111 CrTelangana elections: The seizure of unaccounted cash, gifts and liquor has crossed a record Rs 111 core in Telangana. The police department has seized Rs 71.67 Cr in the state,  the I-T department has seized Rs 22.50 crore, totalling to Rs 94.17 Cr. Election enforcement teams also seized gold, silver and other expensive items worth Rs 7.77 Cr.

 On Wednesday night, Telangana Police have seized over Rs 3 Cr cash from the house belonging to a Congress worker named Amrutha Rao in  Kazipet  district in Warangal. According to the latest update the cash was planned to distribute to voters in Sanga Reddy constituency in favour of Congress candidate Jayaprakash Reddy, popularly known as Jagga Reddy.

The police have also nabbed 3 people at Jubliee Hills with cash over Rs 2 Cr. According to the police report, the money, which they recovered, was meant to be distributed to public to vote in favour of Congress Candidate Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy. The three men identified as A Prakash, SV Krishnam Rajum and R Kiran Goud.

A Prakash and SV Krishnam Rajum are the employees of Haridwar Infrastructure in Road Number 10, Banjara Hills whereas  R Kiran Goud is a business man from Sanga Reddy.

According to Task Force additional DCP, P Radha Kishan Rao, the trio- A Prakash, SV Krishnam Rajum and R Kiran Goud collected the cash from T Raja Ramesh to influence the people of Sanga Reddy constituency to vote in the favour of Jagga Reddy

In other case, the Police seized cash worth more than Rs 3 cr yesterday from Warangal. V Ravinder, Police Commissioner said ,”There are evidence that this money was to be distributed among voters  and it belonged to Wardhannapet constituency candidate P Devaiah (TJS).

 On Wednesday, Balanagar Police raided Vimal Cinema Hall and seized Rs 8.87 lakhs. On the otherside, Police also nabbed B Shankar at Saroornagar , when he was trying to distribute Rs 90,000 cash and 144 liquor bottles to voters.
