Telangana government is taking important decisions as elections are approaching. Along with the implementation of government schemes, it has also focused on the welfare of the employees along with the salaries. As a part of this,  a key decision has been taken regarding the salaries of midday meal scheme workers. It has been announced that the increased wages will be given from this month. Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy made a statement to this effect. The latest decision will benefit 54,201 cook cum helpers working in government schools.

Sabitha Indra Reddy spoke at a meeting of district education officials held in Hyderabad on Saturday. She reminded that while CM KCR was giving Rs 1000 as honorarium to the workers, he had previously announced that it would be increased to Rs 3000. Accordingly, they said that they will provide increased salaries from this month. The minister revealed that due to the increased wages, an additional burden of Rs 108.40 crore per year will fall on the government. She also directed the officials to release the funds related to this scheme from time to time. She directed to provide quality food to the students and increase supervision.

She said that the state level achievement survey will be conducted annually from now on to identify the minimum educational abilities of the students at the school level. She added that based on the results of the survey, action will be taken in future. The first step program is already being implemented to increase the language and math abilities of the students of classes 1-5.
