Telangana Govt sacks Irrigation ENC Muralidhar

Telangana government is ready to take key steps in the case of collapse of pillars in Medigadda project.  A few days before the assembly elections, the problems that arose in the Medigadda and Annaram projects had an impact on the elections. The Congress party has alleged that large-scale irregularities have taken place in the irrigation projects.

In this order, the Assembly has decided to remove two Engineer-in-Chief level officers on Wednesday evening as the budget meetings are about to start from today. Muralidhar, who has been working as Engineer-in-Chief for ten years after retirement, has been ordered to submit a compromise letter.

Along with him, it has been decided to remove Venkateswarlu, the Engineer-in-Chief of Kaleswaram Uphill Potala (Ramagundam) from service. To this extent, Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy took a key decision.

Sources said that Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has asked Muralidhar to resign from the post. The retired senior irrigation official was appointed as ENC soon after the BRS came to power in  the year 2014.

Kaleswaram ENC Venkateswarlu was removed from service by Secretary of Water and Drainage Department Rahul Bojja. These decisions have been taken in the wake of vigilance inquiry into the Medigadda Barrage Kunguba  case.

A new person will be appointed for the key post of Engineer-in-Chief in the Telangana Irrigation Department. At present there are four ENCs in the Irrigation Department. Anil Kumar, who is senior among them, will be appointed as the administrative ENC.
