The Telangana High Court has given a green signal for the recognition labor union elections in Singareni. The petition filed by the management to postpone the elections was rejected.

It issued orders on Thursday allowing the elections to be held on 27th of this month. The interim petition seeking postponement of the elections was dismissed.

The Telangana court dismissed the interim petition filed by the state government seeking postponement of the elections. A total of 13 labor unions stood in the election ring. There is a strong rivalry between the three communities. The process of nominations was completed in the month of October itself. 

Elections are held every four years for the recognition trade union in Singareni. The election dispute of Singareni labor union has been going on in the High Court for a year. The High Court, which is issuing orders extending the deadline for the conduct of elections  has already issued orders several times. In the wake of assembly elections in Telangana, the elections were postponed last October.

As the new government has recently been formed in Telangana, the labor union has appealed to postpone the elections once again. The High Court dismissed the latest petition filed by the management. With this, the Central Labor Department is making arrangements for the conduct of elections.

The State Energy Department approached the Telangana High Court seeking postponement of the elections. The High Court, which heard the petition, ordered to file a counter. Then the court hearing the petition opined that there were no valid reasons for postponing the election.
