Telangana High Court has issued important orders regarding the cadre of Telangana Government Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar. While he is currently in Telangana cadre, he has been ordered to go to AP cadre.  Telangana High Court had set aside the orders passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal earlier.

After the bifurcation of state, Somesh Kumar was assigned to AP cadre by the central government. But, CAT later ordered him to work in Telangana on deputation.  Somesh Kumar is now the highest official in Telangana state. However, the Central Government approached the High Court to set aside the orders passed by CAT. The bench of Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, who conducted a long inquiry into the matter, recently issued a judgment quashing the CAT orders.

The Centre approached the High Court in  the year 2017 requesting to quash the CAT orders. A bench comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and the  Justice Nanda delivered the verdict quashing the CAT Order.

Earlier, Center had clarified that AP cadre IAS officer Somesh Kumar has to go to his home state. It was suggested that Somesh Kumar’s services should be continued on deputation with the permission of Andhra if Telangana state deems it necessary.

Somesh Kumar approached Central Administrative Tribunal against his allotment to AP during the bifurcation of the state. The orders of this tribunal have now been dismissed by the High Court. And now the High Court has also decided that he has to go to his own state.
