Income Tax officials have been raiding the Hyderabad residence and offices of Congress leader Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy since early morning on Thursday. It is reported that the officers who arrived in all 8 vehicles seized the mobile phones of the Ponguleti staff and carried out checks without letting anyone go out.
According to preliminary information, raids are being conducted at Jyoti Ridge residence in Nandagiri Hills near Ponguleti, his home village in Khammam district, his son’s residence and the residences of his close relatives. Officials from Bangalore and Hyderabad IT offices are reported to have participated in these attacks.
But Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, who has to file his nomination as a candidate for Paleru constituency today, is in those arrangements. Yesterday he made important comments. The activists were asked to be very careful and courageous for the next 23 days. He called to come to the nomination program.
From last few days in Telangana state they are focusing only on Congress leaders and central investigation agencies are pushing organizations like IT and ED. BRS and BJP are working together to predict the results of the elections. These two are attacking the Congress. It is likely to cause trouble for me and my organizations. So Congress workers should not rush. Ponguleti commented that no action should be taken.
In the wake of the IT attacks, Ponguleti’s fans and activists are gathering to his house in large numbers. Activists believe that changes in the nomination program may be possible due to IT attacks.
