In order to implement the minority welfare schemes across Telangana, the cash transfer scheme will be implemented from August 16 to the selected districts.
From August 16, the distribution of Rs 1 lakh checks will be started from August 16 to 10,000 beneficiaries selected for the welfare schemes of minorities in Telangana. To this extent, Minister Harish Rao ordered the officials of the Finance Department.
Beneficiaries will be selected according to the population in each constituency and the scheme will be implemented. The Minister explained that checks are being distributed to 10,000 people in the first phase under the Rs 1 lakh financial assistance program announced by the Chief Minister in the Assembly.
He said that the government has already completed the implementation of the promises of allotment of 125 acres for burial grounds to minorities and increase in the number of imams-mauzans who will get honorary salary. In addition to the Rs 270 crore allocated for the plight of minorities, the Minister directed the Finance Department to allocate another Rs 130 crore for the implementation of the financial assistance program.
The chief secretary of the government was also directed to conduct a review with the officials on the welfare of BC, ST and minorities. He asked the authorities to speed up the process of collating the petitions for cremation grounds and land for Eid in the state and release the necessary funds immediately.
