Telangana government has already revealed that the inauguration of the state’s new secretariat which was scheduled on 17th February has been postponed owing to the poll code.  It was announced that the new date would be announced soon. The Polls for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Teachers’ constituency and Hyderabad Local Authorities’ constituency will be held on 13th March.  The works of Telangana Secretariat have reached the final stage.  This morning, Telangana Chief Minister KCR reached the secretariat. It seems that he discussed the progress of the works as well as the inauguration date with the officials. On the other hand, the cabinet also decided to unveil a huge statue on the occasion of Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on 14th April.

It seems that government is planning to inaugurate new secretariat and martyrs’ memorial within a month . But on April 14, the work to inaugurate the statue of Ambedkar will be started. While the opening program of the Secretariat has already been postponed, there is a discussion that there is a possibility of announcing  2nd June the new date. It is reported that an announcement is likely to be made on this.

Telangana Secretariat was built on an area of 28 acres.  The building was constructed at a height of 265 feet. The government has taken up the construction of the new secretariat building complex in the current premises in January 2021.
