Telugu Desam Party is getting ready to announce the list of candidates who will contest the Telangana Assembly elections. In the wake of Chandrababu’s arrest, doubts have been expressed whether TDP will contest the Telangana elections or not. Finally, the party is preparing to release the TDP candidates.
TDP hopes to contest in 89 constituencies in Telangana. Organizationally, TDP is still getting ready to field candidates in the constituencies it holds in Telangana.
The Telangana State Party has completed the exercise on the selection of ticket aspirants and sent the details to TDP President Chandrababu. According to party sources, Telangana TDP state president Kasani Gyaneshwar along with family members will meet Chandrababu in Rajamahendravaram on Thursday with the list of candidates to contest the election.
TDP sources say that party president Chandrababu Babu is likely to take a key decision regarding the Telangana assembly elections today. And the list will be out tomorrow. In Telangana, except for 30 constituencies, it is said that the selection of candidates has come to an end.
Telangana TDP president Kasani has already worked with the state level and parliamentary level leaders at NTR Bhavan on the selection of aspirants and candidates by constituencies. They have basically decided to contest in 89 out of 119 constituencies.
It is said that a list of 189 names has been prepared for the constituencies where TDP candidates will contest. It was found that the candidates on behalf of TDP are not showing interest in the joint Warangal and Adilabad districts along with the assembly constituencies under Hyderabad Lok Sabha. Among the 89 constituencies contested by TDP, some constituencies have proposed one candidate name and others two names.
