Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has been taking steps towards strengthening the RTC with innovative decisions for some time now. On the one hand, along with reducing the current burden, it is bringing changes to attract passengers. Many offers have already been announced. On the other hand, it is running new services to neighboring states as well. Meanwhile, another innovative program has recently been launched. With the aim of making the organization more accessible to the people, it has been decided to appoint bus officers in the villages. Guidelines for this were also released on Saturday.
TSRTC will appoint 2,000 village bus officers whose primary duty will be to encourage people to use the RTC services.
TSRTC MD Sajjanar stated that this new system will come into effect from May 1 . It has been announced that depot managers will appoint Wardco Bus Officer in municipalities.
Company conductors, drivers and other employees residing in villages are appointed by Depot Managers as Village Bus Officers. Have friendly relations with people in recruitment. Preference will be given to those who come forward to work voluntarily. A big village has one bus officer. If it is small, one person is appointed for two or three villages. According to these guidelines, one cannot be allotted more than 5 villages.
Wardco Bus Officer is appointed by Depot Managers in other municipalities including Hyderabad. They work like Village Bus Officers within the respective wards.
These village bus officers are in constant touch with the villagers. The officials of this bus meet with the villagers once in 15 days. It collects information about bus arrivals, timings, new routes, new services, problems, etc. The information will be forwarded to the higher authorities.
