Controversy surrounding phone tapping has reached the YSRCP leaders, as 2 members have made similar allegations.  First Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy claimed his phone was being tapped, followed by MLA Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, a member of the ruling YSR Congress Party, from Venkatagiri in Nellore district, who alleged that his phone has been monitored for over a year. Anam Ramanarayana Reddy expressed his concern that there are conspiracies against him. While expressing his dissatisfaction with the security, he stated that two gunmen were fired arbitrarily without even informing him.

Anam Ramanarayana Reddy expressed his concern over political uncertainty in his constituency and fear for his safety, stating that he has to resort to using WhatsApp to communicate with his family.  MLA questioned, “If our own party leaders are tapping my phone, who can I turn to for complaint?”  Anam complained about the phone tapping and said he had been using number of phones and was fully aware that he had been under monitoring for a while.

Anam  said, “ The Pegasus software is being used to monitor me. You can appoint an IPS officer to monitor my activities in constituency.”
