Due to the tremendous progress the country had made in the fight against the virus, the United States authorities have terminated the requirement of Covid tests for international travellers. This change will come into effect from Sunday.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will reassess the policy in three months. The government claimed it would not hesitate to act to reinstate the rule. A senior official reported, “We are capable of taking this step due to the tremendous progress we have made in our fight against the virus. We have manufactured life saving vaccines and treatments widely available and these tools are working to curb serious illness and death, and are effective against the common variants circulating in the US and around the world.”

Since January, the number of Covid cases in the US have declined sharply, though the figures had started to rise again in recent weeks prior to plateauing. Finally, the IK has also withdrawn all Covid-19 test requirements for travel in the month of March. While Italy lifted its testing requirements this month. The US has been gradually easing Covid national restrictions all around the nation.
