The video, released with the name Opening Bracket, gave a hint that the upcoming film has an interesting periodical backdrop. Varun Tej’s face was not shown in this. This video showed his legs and eyes. The glimpse didn’t reveal much about the film’s plot but confirmed that Matka is a period film centered around the gambling game called Matka.
The upcoming film Matka is directed by Karuna Kumar of “Palasa 1978” and “Sri Devi Soda Centre” fame and is funded by Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala of Vyra Entertainments in collaboration with Rajani Talluri’s SRT Entertainments. Currently, Matka is in progress, with a massive set erected in Hyderabad.

Director Karuna Kumar successfully captured the ambiance from the 50s to the 80s, with cinematographer A Kishor Kumar and production designer Ashish Teja Pulala contributing to the authentic period vibes. A Kishor Kumar is the cinematographer. Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary are playing the female lead in this high-budget action drama.
