Venkatesh Daggubati is all set to remake Dhanush starrer Asuran in Telugu. Asuran which was helmed by Vetrimaaran is a thrilling plot against caste and received rave reviews for its theme. Now the movie is going to be remake in Tollywood and in which Venkatesh Daggubati will play the lead role. Initially, it was rumored that Gauthamiputra Satakarni fame Shriya Saran is likely to reprise Manju Warrier’s role from the original. The latest is that the makers are planning to rope in Priyamani to play Manju Warrier’s role in Venkatesh starrer. The regular shooting of Asuran remake will commence from the last week of January. According to the latest buzz in the film industry, the makers of Venkatesh starrer Asuran remake are using Narappa as a working title for this film. However, there is no confirmation on will makers use the same title for this film or not.
Director Srikanth Addala who is known for films like Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Brahmotsavam will be directing Venkatesh again in the Telugu remake Narappa. The Telugu remake Narappa of Venkatesh and Priyamani starrer will be bankrolled by Suresh Babu and the original producer Kalaipuli S Thanu under Suresh Productions and V Creations, respectively. The rest of the cast and crew of Narappa are yet to be announced.
Currently, the pre-production works of Venkatesh starrer Narappa are going on in full swing. Mani Sharma is on the board to score the music.
Asuran is a revenge drama that traces the fight of an oppressed community is based on the Tamil novel ‘Vekkai’ written by Poomani. The film had joined the Rs 100 crore club emerging as a blockbuster hit. Produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu under his banner V Creations, the movie starred veteran actor Pasupathi, director Balaji Sakthivel, Prakash Raj, Yogi Babu, Guru Somasundaram, actor Karunas’s son Ken Karunas.
On the otherside, Venkatesh was last seen in multistarrer Venky Mama, which was superhit at the box office.
