The young actor Vijay Deverakonda is making his debut in Bollywood with an action drama Liger, which is also being made in Telugu. In this film Arjun Reddy fame star is sharing the screen space with Ananya Panday. According to the latest report, Vijay Deverakonda is getting Rs 35 Cr to play the lead role in upcoming film Liger which is being directed by Puri Jagannadh of Pokiri, Temper and ismart Shankar fame.
Boxing Legend Mike Tyson is making a cameo appearance in the climax portions of Puri Jagannadh’ directorial venture. World Famous Lover fame Vijay Deverakonda will be seen as an MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter with a stutter.
Liger is produced by Karan Johar, Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar and Jagannadh under the banners of Dharma Productions and Puri Connects.
Few days ago, the makers of Liger released the teaser that introduced Vijay Deverakonda’s character — a ‘slumdog’ from Mumbai–who rises up the ranks to apparently compete in an MMA championship in Las Vegas. The teaser also gave the glimpses of his ‘chaiwallah’ past, and brief looks at his rowdy antics on the streets.
Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger will be released on 25th August in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
