With theaters will not be reopening anytime soon, many small and medium budget flicks are reconsidering the option of OTT release. Small films like Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya and Bhanumati & Rama Krishna are releasing on OTT.
While Bhanumathi & Rama Krishna started streaming from today, Satya Dev‘s movie Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya will stream from July 15th. Many medium budget flicks like Red, Orey Bujjiga and Nishabdam are reconsidering OTT release options.
Uppena is another film where everybody thought that they will go for OTT release. As the lead pair are newcomers and the director is a debutante too, OTT release looks convincing. But makers of Uppena have made it clear that they are not going for OTT release. Though it may take more time for theatrical release, makers want to wait till normalcy restores.
Uppena is made with a budget of around Rs. 20 Crores. Though it a debut movie for Vaishnav Tej, makers have spent on a lavish scale. For the same reason, they want to wait for some more time.
