Mahanati is a biopic of South Indian legendary actress Savitri, directed by Nag Ashwin, in which Keerthy Suresh played the titular role whereas Dulquer Salmaan essayed the role of Gemini Ganesan. The movie received lot of applause and was turned out decent hit at the box office. Meanwhile, yesteryear actress Vanisri spoke about Savitri biopic Mahanati.
Vanisri who is making her comeback on the small screen with a serial Premnagar, interacted with media recently and when she was asked about Mahanati biopic, she revealed, “ Yes I watched Savitri biopic Mahanati but i slept after watching the 1st half. I couldn’t find Savitri life from the second half.” When she was asked about her biopic, she replied that he biopic is not possible because there is no any twist in her life and film story should have the twists.
Vanisri has been the part of several movies like Krishnaveni, Prem Nagar, Dussehra Bullodu, Aradhana, Jeevitha Chakram, Rangula Ratnam, Sri Krishna Tulabharam, Bhakta Kannappa, Bobbili Raja, etc. If there was a star heroine in the Tollywood, who ruled on par with the heroes, it must be only Vanisri. She was the only actress during that period who commanded a higher remuneration than her male co stars. In 2013, she received the state Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for her contribution to Telugu cinema.
