YSRTP chief YS Sharmila fell ill during his visit to Khammam district on Sunday. Crops were damaged in many districts due to the recent untimely rains. Today, YS Sharmila, the supremo of the YSRTP and sister of Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has started a program to visit the farmers who have lost their crops in Khammam District. This morning she visited the fields of the farmers in the district whose crops were damaged. Talked to farmers, she enquired about crop damage.
While interacting with farmers, YS Sharmila suddenly collapsed and complained of discomfort. However, the quick actions of locals helped Sharmila to recover. It is believed that she fell ill due to sunstroke. The incident happened when YS Sharmila was speaking to the media at one of her stops to check the extent of the crop loss.
The state of Telangana has been receiving heavy rains for the past week. Due to untimely rains, farmers have suffered a lot. Farmers are expressing their grief that the harvested crop has been damaged. Officials are investigating the crop damage in 27 districts of the state. According to the preliminary estimate, the crop has been lost in around 4.5 lakh acres.
