Power Star Pawan Kalyan’ Jana Sena, which contested 8 seats in the Telangana Legislative Assembly elections, suffered a defeat. The Jana Sena, which entered the fray along with the BJP, initially thought of contesting in 11 seats. In the end, candidates were fielded in Kukatpally, Tandur, Kodada, Nagarkurnool, Khammam, Kothagudem, Vaira (ST) and  Ashwaravpet  (ST) seats. Party president Pawan campaigned for them. BJP national president JP Nadda campaigned in Kukatpally. Yet all were defeated. Moreover, no one could get the deposit.

Mummareddy Premkumar, who contested from Kukatpally, managed to secure 39,830 votes. All others are limited to less than 5,000 votes. In Ashwaravpet, Umadevi stood fourth with 2,281 votes. The Jana Sena candidate got 4,087 votes in Tandur, 1,955 in Nagarkurnool, 2,151 in Kodada, 3,053 in Khammam, 1,945 in Kottagudem,  2,712 in Vaira, 2,712 in Vaira, and 2,281 votes in Ashwaravpet.

Pawan Kalyan led Jana Sena Party drew a blank as it faced defeat in all 8  seats it contested and lost deposits. Jana Sena entered the poll race in alliance with BJP.

Pawan Kalyan failed to work his magic on the Telangana voters and now needs to relook at his seat distribution strategy with TDP in AP for the assembly elections.
