Sukumar’ directorial venture, the rural drama Pushpa: The Rise starring Icon star Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna is receiving superb response from across the world. The movie Pushpa has created new records at the box office as it joined the club of Rs 100 Cr worldwide in just two days. Rashmika Mandanna is playing Allu Arjun’ love interest Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as IPS Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. The first part sets up the story for more to be explored in the 2nd part which is titled Pushpa: The Rule. Sukumar’s film hit screens in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi on 17th December and it won the hearts of the movie lovers. The rural drama was released a day later in Malayalam due to technical issues.
Despite the Omicron panic sweeping the country, the theaters are jam packed and tickets are flying off the shelves. While the Telugu version took a commanding lead, the other dubbed versions of Pushpa performed admirably.
Pushpa is based on the lives of red sandalwood smugglers in Andhra Pradesh’s Seshachalam district.
