The Central Election Commission has been alerted in the wake of complaints of irregularities in the Andhra Pradesh voters’ list. Delhi’s summoning of the state’s Chief Electoral Officer has become a debate in the wake of complaints that lakhs of votes are being deleted and illegal votes are being added in AP.

The matter of cancellation of votes which has become the main weapon of political parties in Andhra Pradesh has reached Delhi. The Election Commission was alerted after receiving complaints about the registration of hundreds of votes with the same house number and massive loss of votes in some places.

CEC has received complaints from political parties as well as many organizations. As a result, CEC summoned AP Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena to Delhi on Tuesday. It is learned that the Deputy Commissioner of the Central Election Commission discussed with Meena for about three hours.

CEC officials have questioned Mukesh Kumar Meena about the unusual additions and subtractions of votes along with other issues in the context of the elections being held within a year. Not satisfied with the explanation given by him, the Election Commission decided not to give room for any doubts and manipulations in the current political situation. The CEO said that special comprehensive revision of voters list in AP- 2024 preparation was discussed.

 CEO said that from 21st of this month to 21st of August booth level officials will be sent door to door to check the details of the voters.
