The High Court is going to take a crucial decision today on whether to grant regular bail to former CM and TDP leader Chandrababu Babu in the case of skill development irregularities during the previous TDP government in AP. The High Court, which had already granted interim bail to him in this case due to ill health, has postponed the regular bail hearing till today. An inquiry is going to be conducted on this today. The CID, which arrested Chandrababu as A37 in the skill case, submitted the FIR and remand report in the ACB court and sent him to Rajahmundry jail.
After a 52-day judicial remand there, he was granted interim bail on the grounds of ill health. He was ordered to surrender again on 28th of this month. But Chandrababu’s lawyers have already filed a petition for regular bail. With this, the High Court will announce the verdict after hearing the petition.
All accused except Chandrababu Naidu have already been granted anticipatory bail, interim bail or regular bail in the ‘Star War’ skill case. Chandrababu was also granted interim bail. In this context, what the CID is going to tell the High Court about granting regular bail to Chandrababu has become crucial. If the High Court approves Chandrababu’s regular bail, there will be no need for him to surrender again. Otherwise, if he refuses, he will have to surrender in Rajahmundry Jail as per the interim bail given earlier. If the High Court refuses to grant regular bail to Chandrababu today, there is a possibility that he will approach the Supreme Court again. In fact, the Supreme Court announced yesterday that the verdict on Chandrababu’s quash petition in the skill case will be delivered after the Diwali holidays.
