ADR report has revealed that the ruling BJP at the Center received more than Rs 250 crore in donations in 2022-23. It said that more than 70 % of the donations received from the electoral trusts. KCR led BRS received nearly 25 % or Rs 90 crore in donations. BJP received Rs 259.08 crores and BRS received Rs 90 crores.
ADR- Association for Democratic Reforms report revealed that these three parties YSR Congress, AAP and Congress received a total of Rs 17.40 crores. According to the reports of electoral trusts, a total of more than Rs 363 crores have been received by political parties in the form of donations in 2022-23. 39 corporate and business houses are on the list of donors.
ADR report states that 34 corporate and business organizations donated more than Rs 360 crores to Prudent Electoral Trust, one company donated Rs 2 crores to Samaj Electoral Trust, two companies donated Rs.75.50 lakhs to Paribarthan Electoral Trust and 2 companies donated Rs.50 lakhs to TRIMP Electoral Trust.
Samaj Electoral Trust also donated Rs 50 lakh to Congress Party, while Prudent Electoral Trust contributed to 4 parties – BRS, BJP, YSR Congress, and AAP.
