Telugu Desam Party- TDP shocked the ruling YCP by winning three seats. TDP, which won two seats easily, faced a fierce battle in West Rayalaseema. In the final, TDP candidate Bhumi Reddy Ramgopal Reddy won a big victory. But even though his victory was announced on Saturday night. the non-certificate has become a topic of discussion.
On Saturday night, TDP leaders and activists were agitated as Bhumi Reddy Ramgopal Reddy was not given a certificate of winning as MLC. A protest was held in front of the main gate of JNTU College. Collector and Joint Collector vehicles were blocked in agitation. There was an atmosphere of conflict between the activists and the police. Former ministers Paritala Sunitha, Kalva Srinivas and other important leaders participated in this agitation.
After midnight, the police arrested the TDP leaders. Bhumi Reddy Ramgopal Reddy who won as MLC was also forced into the police van. Later they were taken to Anantapuram Threetown Police Station.
TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu expressed his anger over the arrest of Bhumi Reddy Ramgopal Reddy. Chandrababu Naidu said, ” What’s up Jagan Reddy..will you force the candidate who won the election to give declaration? Will Pulivendula TDP leader Ramagopal Reddy be arrested late night for claiming that he won as MLC?.”
