India’s boxing hope Nikhat Zareen has won gold in the World Boxing Championship. In the 50 kg category, Nikhat Zareen became the champion with a 5-0 win over Vietnamese boxer N Nguyen Thi Tam. Telangana Chief Minister KCR responded to this.
KCR congratulated Nikhat Zareen for winning the gold medal in the Women’s World Boxing Championship held in Delhi. Nikhat, who emerged as the winner with a clear lead over the opponent, was hailed as a pride for Telangana. Nikhat Zareen said that India’s reputation at the international level has been cemented with its successive victories.
CM KCR described it as a great privilege to win two gold medals in the history of the World Boxing Championship. He said that Telangana government’s efforts in promoting sports and athletes will continue in the future as well.
Meanwhile, Nikhat Zareen won the 52 kg category in the World Boxing Championship held in Istanbul, Turkey last year. Winning the Nikhat medal in the World Championship for the second time in a row is proof of her talent.
Nikhat Zareen and Lovlina Borgohain made it a golden Sunday for India at the Women’s World Boxing Championships in capital New Delhi. While Nikhat Zareen clinched the gold in 50kg category, Lovlina Borgohain won the yellow metal in the 75kg category.
