Investment continues to flow into Telangana. While many leading companies have already come forward to invest in the state, Corning Company of America has recently joined this list. This company, which is the world leader in material senses, has decided to invest heavily in Telangana. It has come forward to set up a manufacturing industry of Gorilla Glass for smart phones and other electronic devices with Rs 934 crores. As a result, 800 people will be employed.
IT Minister of the state KTR, who is currently on a visit to America, met Corning’s senior vice president John Bain and company representatives in New York on Friday. On this occasion, John explained their investment plan in Telangana. It has been announced that Telangana has been chosen to set up the first Gorilla Glass manufacturing industry in India.
Telangana Minister KTR tweeted: Happy to share that Corning, one of the world’s leaders in material sciences has decided to invest in Telangana to setup a manufacturing plant to make Gorilla Glass for smartphones, for the first time in India. Investment size of R 934 Crore will employ 800 people but more importantly a strategic investment in manufacturing for smartphones and other electronic devices.
