LB Nagar court has issued a sensational verdict on Friday, sentencing the man who brutally murdered his wife and daughter to life imprisonment. Along with the punishment, a fine of ten thousand was also imposed. According to Additional DCP Srinivas Rao, Roja (25) of Angadi Bazar, Chevella village is a laborer by profession. She fell in love with Raju (35) from the same village five years ago and got married. They have four-year-old Shravan and two-year-old Kirtan. For some time their marriage went smoothly, but then the king started harassing his wife Roja. He also attacked her physically many times. As usual, on February 14, 2019, around 5 pm, Raju came home and got into a fight with his wife Roja. His wife Roja threatened to commit suicide if there was a fight on the same day as his harassment was too much.

Enraged by that, Raju poured kerosene on his wife Roja and daughter’s kirtan and ran away from there saying, “I will kill you.” Unable to bear the fire, the mother and daughter screamed, the neighbors reached and put out the fire and shifted them to Osmania Hospital. Later, the locals informed the police.

Daughter Keertana died the next day while undergoing treatment and wife Roja died three days later. While Roja was being treated at the hospital, the police took her statement and registered a case under PC 162, Section 498A, Section 307 of the IPC. However, as both the mother and daughter died while undergoing treatment, IPC 302,307,498 was changed to Sections A.

Later, Inspector Guravaiah took up the investigation of this case. In this order, on February 18, 2019, the accused Raju was arrested and produced in the court and a charge sheet was filed.
