In Andhra Pradesh, the politics are revolving around Kapu community as every party is trying to pacify and gain the support in the next general elections. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao criticized the ruling YSR Congress Party and the opposition Telugu Desam Party- TDP for cheating the Kapu community. Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam, MP GVL Narasimha Rao commented that the injustice done to the Kapus in this country cannot be done to any community. He questioned what the previous Telugu Desam Party government had done on the issue of Kapu reservation.
Meanwhile, GVL Narasimha Rao demanded the state – Andhra Pradesh government to name one of Vijayawada or Machilipatnam districts after late Kapu Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga.
He said in the Parliament, “ Greatness of late Kapu leader, Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga, who emerged as a beacon of hope for poor people and was politically assassinated by the gunmen, should be respected. Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga was the people’s leader and unfortunately he was murdered by his opponents. As a mark of respect to Ranga, the international airport in Vijayawada should be named after Ranga and I will appeal the same to Civil Aviation ministry.”
