It hopes to win three seats in the Rajya Sabha that are vacant from AP. The tenure of Vemireddy Pabhakar Reddy, CM Ramesh and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, who are currently MPs, will end on 3rd April. Although CM Ramesh was elected from TDP, he is currently in BJP. Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy is YCP MP. Kanakamedala is the member of TDP.

The YCP is trying to secure three seats in the wake of the release of the schedule for filling the Rajya Sabha seats. Four of the MLAs who won from YCP have now left the party. On the other hand, some of those who won from TDP also came towards YCP. There are doubts about YCP getting three seats.

Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy has been decided to contest for Nellore Lok Sabha. At first he refused to compete but later agreed. In view of the current strength of YCP in the AP Assembly, Jagan has decided to send former TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy to the Rajya Sabha. Subbareddy has been trying to enter politics for the past few years.
