Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh shared an old video showing Prime minister Modi mocking ex-VP Hamid Ansari at his farewell inside the Rajya Sabha in 2017.
Jairam Ramesh launched a counter-attack with a video in the wake of Bharatiya Janata Party BJP leaders’ anger that TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee insulted Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar outside Parliament. He shared the video on ‘X’ saying that he himself insulted the then Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Hamid Ansari on the stage of the Parliament in the capacity of the Prime Minister.
It was 10th August, 2017 during the farewell to Hamid Ansari, who was retiring as Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha after a long 10 year tenure. It was then most shockingly that the PM Modi mocked Ansari, reducing his identity to his religion and in effect alleging that his entire professional and political achievements were because of his religious identity,” Congress leader Jairam Ramesh wrote on X while sharing a video of the PM speech in the Upper House.
While sharing a video clip of an old speech of PM Modi, he said that the Prime Minister had lowered the dignity of Ansari from his identity to his religion.
Jairam Ramesh added It was pointed out that Modi had sung the same ‘song’ very well in the evening’s farewell function at the Parliament Library Auditorium. Such a petty prime minister and those who beat the drum for him now who are lamenting that injustice has been done to the constitutional authorities are the most vile, hypocritical and opportunists.
