Siddaramaiah took oath as Karnataka CM. Opposition leaders came in large numbers for this ceremony. DK Sivakumar enthusiastically participated in this ceremony which was held in Bangalore. The assembly hall was jammed with the uproar of thousands of people.
After Siddaramaiah took oath as CM, DK Sivakumar took charge as Deputy CM. Later, Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gahlot administered the oath to many MLAs.
Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gahlot along with key leaders of the party attended the oath-taking ceremony. At the same time, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, political leader Kamal Haasan and NC president Farooq Abdullah were present.
With the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approaching, the opposition parties are hoping to defeat the BJP with their unity. In this context, Karnataka used the platform to show their solidarity.
Elections for 224 seats Karnataka assembly were held on 10th of this month. Results wer out on 13th. Defying exit polls’ predictions that there is a possibility of a hangover , the Congress won a landslide victory in this election. It gave a shock to BJP and JDS by losing 135 seats. After that, ‘politics’ started in Congress. DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah contested for the post of CM. In fact, these two played a key role in the party’s victory. In the end, Siddaramaiah got the CM seat. He took oath on Saturday.
