Communist parties in Telangana were shocked after candidates were announced for 115 assembly constituencies without any mention of alliances.

CPI and CPM were stunned when Telangana BRS announced candidates for the seats without any mention of the Left parties. They thought that they would get a hand of friendship from BRS, but that did not happen, so those parties feel that they have to find their own way. Today they will discuss where to contest in the next election.

CM KCR gave a shock to the communist parties in Telangana. His decision did not go down well with the parties who thought that they would continue to do so in the Assembly elections as they had joined the Left in the previous by-elections.

CPM and CPI parties will meet separately today on the strategies to be followed in the Telangana assembly elections. Left parties are planning to contest together in the next elections. As no proposal has been received from the BRS and the candidates of the BRS have been finalized even in the positions that the Left parties want to contest, the Left parties are thinking of contesting on their own.

With KCR’s handshake, the Left parties will meet today to decide the future course of action. There are chances that the two communist parties will meet separately and come to an understanding. CPI intends to contest in Munugodu, Husnabad and Kothagudem.

On the other hand, CPM is preparing to contest in Paleru, Bhadrachalam and Miryalaguda. CPM and CPI are considering who to support in uncontested seats. The Left parties, which are moving with the Congress party at the national level, are planning to move with the party in Telangana state as well.

There are also doubts whether the Congress will ally with the Left parties and whether the Congress party will allot the seats to the Left parties. There are chances of talks with the Congress after reaching a consensus among the Left parties.
